These terms are legally binding if you choose to use the Kimani platform; please read them carefully before proceeding. We will continue to improve and refine these sections.

Throughout this document, we will use certain terminology to refer to things specific to us, so let's establish what everything means:

Understanding what we are

Kimani is a chat application that allows you to communicate with other users through instant messaging, voice, or video calls. Some content shared on the platform may lead to external websites that are not hosted by us. See 5. Other linked websites.

By using our Service, you agree:

1. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password, including but not limited to the restriction of access to your computer and/or account. You agree to accept responsibility for any and all activities or actions that occur under your account and/or password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

2. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to breaching our Terms of Service.

3. Community Guidelines

4. Content

Our Service allows you to post, link, store, share, and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, or other material ("Content"). You are therefore responsible for the content that you post or share through our service. The type of content that is allowed or disallowed on our platform is available on our Acceptable Usage Policy.

5. Other linked websites

Our service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

6. Warranty

Kimani is provided "as is" with no warranty and/or liability for any outcomes of using our service. Kimani is not responsible for any content shared on self-hosted instances, as outlined in our Acceptable Usage Policy.

7. Changes

As we keep improving our services, we may make changes to our Terms of Service in the future if needed. We will notify you of any changes made to our Privacy Policy by specifying the date. You are advised to review our Terms of Service periodically for any changes. Such changes to our Terms of Service are effective when they are posted on this page.

Kimani Life Mobile App Privacy Policy

1. Overview and Definitions

1.1. Introduction.

Kimani Life (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal data of its users (“you” or “User”). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, storage, and protection of personal data obtained through our mobile application (the “App”). By accessing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

We collect Personal Data exclusively provided by you through in-app registration and profile forms. This includes:

• Interests and Social Profiles: Information you choose to share regarding your interests and links to your social media profiles.
• Self-Reported Locations: Geographic or other location-related information you provide.

Note: No sensitive data (e.g., health, biometric, or other categories as defined by applicable laws) is collected.

All Personal Data is collected directly from you via the App’s forms. We do not employ cookies, in-app trackers, or third-party integrations to collect data.

2.3. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing.

Your Personal Data is processed for the following purposes:
• Membership Evaluation: To assess and determine eligibility for membership in the Kimani Life community.
• Profile Display: To enable the display of certain information on your public profile within the App, excluding sensitive identifiers such as email addresses and phone numbers.
• Communication: To facilitate the delivery of notifications, including SMS, email, and push notifications related to your account and membership status.
• Administrative and Business Purposes: To manage, support, and enhance the App’s functionality and services.

The processing of Personal Data is based on your consent, which you provide by using the App and opting in to data sharing as described herein.

3. Disclosure and Sharing of Personal Data

3.1. Third-Party Disclosures.

We may disclose your Personal Data under the following circumstances:
• Sponsors: Your self-reported email address and phone number may be shared, on a manual and as-needed basis, with our sponsors. Such disclosure is limited solely to the information explicitly provided and necessary for sponsorship purposes.
• Service Providers: We do not share your Personal Data with third-party service providers or integrations beyond the disclosures explicitly stated herein.

3.2. Data Minimization.

Any disclosure is conducted in accordance with the principle of data minimization, ensuring that only the data necessary for the intended purpose is disclosed.

4. Data Storage and Security Measures

4.1. Data Storage.

Your Personal Data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is backed up locally to ensure data redundancy and availability.

4.2. Data Security.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your Personal Data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. In particular:
• User passwords are encrypted using robust encryption algorithms and are not accessible to Company personnel.
• Regular security audits and access control procedures are in place to maintain data integrity.

You have the right to access and update the Personal Data that you have provided, with the exception of certain immutable personal identifiers (e.g., email addresses and phone numbers).

Should you wish to withdraw your consent or request deletion of your Personal Data, please contact us using the “Contact Us” form available within the App. Upon account deletion, all associated Personal Data will be permanently removed.

To do this just type "delete my account" in the "your message" field, and we will delete your account along with all your information from our databases.

By accessing or using the Kimani Life mobile application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you must discontinue use of the App immediately.
